QJJ Adds 10 More Medals at the 2025 Australian Food Awards – A Golden Year Continues
After a thunderous start to 2025 with 17 medals at the Sydney Royal Fine Food Show, we’re humbled (and frankly a little giddy) to announce another 10 medals at the Melbourne Royal Australian Food Awards — making it 27 medals in total for the year. That’s not just a number. That’s a resounding endorsement of the care, craft, and country spirit that goes into every jar we make.
We entered 10 products. We medalled in all 10.
That’s a 100% hit rate — and a clear signal that when you shop with us, you’re choosing some of the finest small-batch preserves in the country.
✨ Our 2025 AFA Medal Haul:
GOLD MEDALS:
– Tomato Kasundi – A fiery, complex blend of ripe tomatoes, mustard seed, and spice. A standout for cheeseboards and roti alike.
– Raspberry Jam – Bursting with local berries and sunshine, and now a double gold winner (Sydney + Melbourne).
– Red Pepper & Chilli Jam – Sweet heat perfected. Also now a double gold winner for 2025.
SILVER MEDALS:
– Tomato Relish – Tangy and savoury with a hint of nostalgia.
– Tomato Sauce – Real tomatoes. Real flavour. No filler.
– Beetroot Ketchup – Rich and earthy, with a whisper of spice.
– Raspberry & Liquorice Jam – Bold and unusual — the judges clearly agreed.
BRONZE MEDALS:
– Green Tomato Pickles – A farmhouse classic done right.
– Roasted Red Capsicum Ketchup – Deep, smoky and endlessly versatile.
– Pickled Red Onions – Punchy pink perfection.
All of these award-winners — and their 17 Sydney-winning siblings — are now featured on our dedicated page:

What It Means to Win Like This
This isn't just a feather in our cap — it's a guarantee for our customers.
When you buy a QJJ product, you’re not taking a gamble. You’re backing a preserve that’s been judged by the country’s best against hundreds of others — and come out shining. These awards recognise the flavour, balance, texture, and craftsmanship that define everything we make.
And let’s be real: if we were in your shoes, we’d want some proof behind the pretty label too. So here it is — 27 medals in 2025. Across jams, sauces, kasundis, ketchups, relishes, and pickles.
We didn’t start this brand to chase trophies — but they do remind us we’re on the right track. That doing things the hard way (by hand, in small batches, with real ingredients) is still worth it. That great food speaks for itself.
A Big Thank You
To our community, to the market customers who supported us from day one, and to the judges who got sticky fingers on our jam spoon — thank you.
We started on a single folding table at the farmers market. Now we’re taking our place on Australia’s culinary honour roll. And we couldn’t do it without you.
Here’s to honest food, handmade on the Murray. And here’s to 2025 — the year of the medal jar.
